The Castle of the Moors is an old ruined castle dating from the Moorish era. It has been partially restored to become a central element of the Pena Palace. A remarkable and colorful monument, this palace is located on one of the highest points of Sintra. The interior of this palace was preserved to show how it lived in 1910, a time when the nobility took refuge.
In addition to these monuments, you can also visit the Quinta da Regaleira, the Palace of Seteais and the Monserrate Palace. The first is a decorative mansion where the main attraction is the gardens. The gardens of this mansion have a mythical symbolism and some secret features like tunnels, gothic towers and walls of fortified stone. The Palace of Seteais respects the romantic architecture and has been converted into a luxurious hotel and the Monserrate Palace has beautiful carved details.
